With filing deadline for the next election cycle ending today at 5pm, below is a comprehensive list of lawmakers coming and going in the next season/next Session. With new maps, a grueling 2021 of multiple legislative sessions – as well as retirements – the list grows everyday. Knowing more is to come, we wanted to give you the insight as it stands at our press time.
What does this mean for you? It means a lot of turnover in the Texas House and Senate. Realistically, this means getting to know the new members, as well as educating them on issues prior to the next Regular Texas Legislative Session. Likely to be the largest new class in 2022, since the 2002 first-ever Republican sweep 20 years ago, our work is cut out for us prior to the March Primaries, the Run-off Season and finally, the 2022 General Elections.
Take a deep breath! Here’s what to know now.
